On the other hand, e-bikes that come with maximum power output of over 750 Watts or more might cross the standard stipulated speed limits of 25 km/hr or 15.5 mph. As a result, these bikes are called “restricted-speed” e-bikes and aren’t allowed on public roads.

  • Class 3: The Class 3 e-bikes feature a powerful motor that produces higher speed that can cross 28 mph. They come with both pedal assistance and throttle assistance.

For instance, it is more convenient and fast for an e-bike with a power rating of 750 W to accelerate than an e-bike with a power rating of 250 W motor even if they are carrying a person of the same weight or traveling through the same terrain.

Another vital part of the e-bike that impacts your speed is its battery voltage. Since it is the battery that powers your motor, it makes sense. The batteries with higher voltage can push more electrical energy at once, which results in greater acceleration and higher speeds.
